Sequence Tracking sheet.
Contents
The tracking sheet is used for viewing how channels/attributes progress thru a sequence. This is the main window:
. |
The window consist of three different sections. In the top of the window there is a bar with different information and buttons. The round yellow buttons gives you access to the “Tracking Sheet Options”. Read about it in the section called “Tracking Sheet Options”. Read about the rest of the top bar in the section bellow called “Top bar”.
The middle is the actual Tracking Sheet, where all attributes are displayed in columns and the cues are displayed in rows.
At the bottom of the window you have the option see the "Layer Control" and/or the "Preset Control". Read about Layer Control and Preset Control.
Colors in the sheet.
In a tracking sequence the sheet uses different colors to show different ways a value is stored/tracked.
. |
- Empty with a gray background: There’s no value stored.
- Green on dark background: The value is getting a lower value then in the previous cue.
- Blue on dark background: The value is getting a higher value then in the previous cue
- Red on dark background: The value is the same as in the previous cue.
- Blue on turquoise background: The attribute gets its value from a preset. This can display a value or a name depending on your settings.
- Pink on purple background: The value is a tracked value i.e. it is not stored in this cue but tracked from a previous cue.
- Pink on gray background: This is only possible when “Release” is tracked.
If your sequence is a Non-Tracking sequence the same section as above looks like this:
. |
Then there are only four different colors.
- Empty with a gray background: There’s no value stored.
- Blue on dark background: There is a value stored in this cue
- Blue on turquoise background: The attribute gets its value from a preset. This can display a value or a name depending on your settings.
- Green on dark background: This is only possible when “Release” is stored.
Editing values in the Tracking Sheet.
You have the option to edit values in the tracking sheet. If you right-click on a value (with your mouse) you get this pop-up:
. |
First you choose what action you want. And then you select what area you want the action to affect. The “actions” are self-explanatory. But the “source” can be a little tricky. “Selection” can be one value or several values (left-click and drag); you can only select several values in one attribute at a time (only multiple vertical selections). “All Channels for Selected Cues” means all the channels for the cue(s) you have selected. “Complete” means the entire sequence. “Selected Channel for All Cues” means just that.
If you middle click and hold on a value you can change the value by moving the mouse up and down.
If you middle click, hold and right-click you access the Calculator and you directly select a new value.
. |
Tracking Sheet Options.
You can access the options by pressing the round yellow button in the upper left corner.
Display Layer:
. |
Here you select what information you want to get displayed. See Layer Control for explanations.
You also have the option to turn On or Off the “Layer Control” and the “Preset Control”.
Sorting & Readout.
. |
Here you have the option to choose how your tracking sheet looks.
The “Readout” determents how your values display.
- Percent +: Displays the percentages and as much as 3 little dots next to the number. Because the total range of one DMX channel is 256 steps and the percentage only displays 100 steps; the dots shows you more precisely where in the 256 steps the value are.
- Percent: Displays the value in percentage (100 steps).
- Decimal: Shows you the actual step in the DMX range (256 steps).
- Hex: This shows you in value in hexadecimal (two decimals).
With the three different font size you choose how big your numbers are displayed.
Attribute Mask.
. |
The “Attribute Mask” allow you to select what attributes you want to see. By moving attributes from the Included group to the Excluded group, you select which you want to be affected by the “Mask” button (also read the “Top bar” section).
Select Sequence.
. |
Here you can select any sequence to be display. It also changes the one of the buttons in the top of the window to "Not Linked" (also read the “Top bar” section).
Delete Window.
This deletes the entire Sequence Tracking Window.
Top bar.
At the top is the window there is a bar with information and buttons.
. |
The “E: 1.1” tells you what executor the sheet displays. In this example it’s executor page 1, executor number 1.
The “S: 1 ‘Seq 1’” tells you what sequence number it is and the name of the sequence. In the examble it’s sequence number 1 and the name is “Seq 1”.
The following is an explanation of the buttons.
Show Sel.
This option shows you the entire sheet when noting is selected. When you select something you only see selection and the cues where the selected attributes change.
Selected Feature(s) / Complete Fixture.
This button works with only when the "Auto Sort" button is activated (read below). It has two states:
- Selected Feature(s): When a fixture is selected the sheet only auto sorts the selected attribute.
- Complete Fixture: When a fixture is selected the sheet auto sorts all attributes to the selected fixture(s).
Notice: If the “Mask” function is activated the masked attributes are not shown!
Mask.
In the “Tracking Sheet Options” you can select an "Attribute Mask" (see "Tracking Sheet Options”). When this button is activated the mask is active.
Auto Sort.
When this button is activated, the attributes you select are moved to the first columns after the name column. It follows the Layer Control in the “Fixture Sheet”. E.g. not only do you get the selected fixtures you also get the selected attribute to those fixtures.
Not Linked / Link Selected / Link Last Go
This is a button with 3 different modes.
- Not Linked: The tracking sheet stays at the sequence you selected in the Tracking Sheet Options.
- Link Selected: The tracking sheet follows your choice of selected sequence.
- Link Last Go: The tracking sheet shows the info to the sequence where you last activated a “GO”.
Auto Scroll.
This feature keeps the active cue in the window e.g. when the sequence reaches the cue that is in the middle of the window; the active cue stays in the middle of the screen and the sequence list moves instead.
Be aware that if you reach the bottom of the list, the sequence list keeps moving. The last cue is still in the middle. But if you try to select something in the window, it moves the last cue to the bottom of the screen.
Layer Control.
At the bottom you see the Layer Control. With this you select what sort of information the sheet shows you.
. |
Presets & Values.
If a channel/attribute gets its value from a preset, the sheet shows the name of the preset. If there is no preset the sheet just displays the value.
Fade.
This displays the fade time for channels/attributes.
Delay.
With this option you can see the delay times.
Modulator Table.
This displays (if any) what modulator table the channel/attribute is assigned e.g.: sin, cos, lin+, lin-, etc.
Modulator Size.
This displays (if any) what modulator size the channel/attribute is assigned.
Modulator Speed.
This displays (if any) what modulator speed the channel/attribute is assigned.
Modulator Phase.
This displays (if any) what modulator phase the channel/attribute is assigned.
Auto.
The auto option changes between the first 3 options (Presets & Values, Fade and Delay), when you press the “TIME” button.
Values Only.
With this option you are always shown the values. I.e.: if a channel/attribute gets a value from a preset. The colors are still showing as a preset, but instead of the name of the preset you can see what value it’s assigned.
Cue ID.
This option shows you what cue a channel/attribute gets its value. This is really useful with large tracking sequences.
Preset Control.
. |
With the “Preset Control” you can select what type of attributes you what moved up before the others (Auto Sort need to be activated). It doesn’t matter if the button is green or gray (it becomes green when you select a channel or fixture and it has that attribute). If the button is there you can select it. If you have the “Preset Control” in a different window e.g. the Fixture Sheet. The tracking sheet follows your selection there.
Notice: You may not see all the buttons shown in the example above. The desk only shows you the buttons with the attributes available to you.
