Sequence Executor Sheet.
Contents
The Sequence Executor Sheet gives information about times, effects, links and cue information in a sequence. This is an example of the main window:
|
The window consists of different sections.
In the top of the window there is a bar with different information and buttons. The round yellow buttons gives you access to the “Executor Sheet Options”. Read about it in the section called “Executor Sheet Options”.
Read about the top bar buttons in the section bellow called “Top bar”.
The middle is the actual Sequence Executor Sheet, where all information is displayed in columns and the cues are displayed in rows. You can change the order by click-hold-and-drag a heading to its desired position.
At the bottom you can choose to see the “Effects dialog” and/or the “Info dialog”.
Colors in the sheet.
There are only four background colors that are worth mentioning.
- Yellow: This is the background of the current cue.
- Blue: This color displays as a moving blue bar that replaces the yellow color (in the name and fade column) as the cue fades. When the fade is done, it returns to the yellow background.
- Green: This color only appears when you have a countdown to an automatic cue change. It works in the same manner as the blue color, with a bar that moves, while there in the trigger column is a number countdown.
- Pink: This color tells you that you are running a loop cue.
Column explanation
There are many different columns and dialogs. The following is a short explanation of them and what they show you. If you want to edit the content, read about it here.
No.:
This is number of the cue. The maximum possible number is 3999.999. The max numbers of decimals is three. The cues will always be sorted in numerical order. Number 3.11 are sorted before number 3.2.
Name:
This is the name of the cue. The name can only contain 18 letters or numbers.
MIB (Move In Black):
The Move In Black option is available where there is a new position and the fixture has a dimmer value of 0 in the previous cue.
Trig:
Trigger is what activates the cue. The trigger can be four different things. “GO”, “FOLLOW”, “SOUND” or a time. Read more about the difference here.
Fade:
This is the Infade of the entire cue.
Outfade:
If you have a value here the entire cue has a different outfade than infade.
Snap:
Some fixture attributes have activated the snap option. This column allows you to set a delay time for the snap.
I.Fade:
This indicates that one or more attributes has an individual fade time. The individual times can be set using a command or the Sequence Tracking Sheet. The cell does not tell you what attribute/fixture has the individual time. The (currently) only way to find it is to look through the entire cue in a tracking sheet.
I.Delay:
This indicates that one or more attributes has an individual delay time. The individual times can be set using a command or the Sequence Tracking Sheet. The cell does not tell you what attribute/fixture has the individual delay time. The (currently) only way to find it is to look through the entire cue in a tracking sheet.
Loop:
If the cue loops to a different cue, the other cue number is displayed here.
Lo.Del:
This indicates if the loop is a timed loop (indicated by a T) and the time, or if the loop is a count loop (indicated by an L) and the count number.
Link:
This cell allows you to make (a series of) commands (a cue macro) that will be activated when the cue is activated.
Li.Del:
This gives you the option to delay the “Link”.
Effects:
This gives you information about any effects stored in the cue. Also read about the Effect Dialog.
Delay:
This is the infade delay time for the entire cue. This is sometimes referred to as “Wait” on other light desks.
Outdelay:
This is the outfade delay time for the entire cue.
Info:
This shows you the information text to the cue. You need a “Info Dialog” to edit the information here.
Dim Path:
This tells you the name of the path assigned to dimmer attributes (if any).
Move Path:
This tells you the name of the path assigned to “moving” attributes (if any).
Effect Dialog:
The effects dialog shows you more detailed information about a effect stored in a cue.
|
It has its own columns and rows. Each row is a new (different) effect.
The following is a short explanation of the columns:
No.: This is the effect number (in the effect pool).
Name: The name of the effect.
Action: This tells you what the stored “action” is for the effect in the cue. There are many options e.g. Go, Off, Pause or None.
Master (with its “F”): This is the master level for the entire effect. In the “F” column you have the option to have this value faded in or out according to the “MFade” value.
Speed (with its “F”): This is the speed of the effect. In the “F” column you have the option to have this value faded in or out according to the “MFade” value.
Fade (with its “F”): This is the “softness” of the effect. Applies only to effects made with the dynamic tables, Chase, PWM and Random.
MFade: The Master Fade is the time which the chosen values fade.
Info Dialog:
The info dialog shows you the information assigned to the cue. Right clicking in it allows you to change the content. This is only static information to you. It means noting to the desk.
Top bar.
At the top is the window there is a bar with information and buttons.
|
From the right the firt thing is the yellow button that gives you access to the Executor Sheet Options. Next is the heading that tells you that it is a Sequence Executor Sheet.
Following this is a little black window giving you useful information:
The “E: 1.1” tells you what executor the sheet displays. In this example it is executor page 1, executor number 1.
The “S: 1 ‘Seq 1’” tells you what sequence number it is and the name of the sequence. In the example it is sequence number 1 and the name is “Seq 1”.
The following is an explanation of the seven buttons.
Info / Effects / Loops & Links / Times / All:
These five buttons can be customized to show you the columns and dialog you want. As a default they have columns with focus on what’s in there headlines. Read more about customizing the buttons in Sequence View-Mode Options.
Not Linked / Link Selected / Link Last Go:
This is a button with 3 different modes.
Not Linked: The executor sheet stays at the sequence you selected in the Executor Sheet Options.
Link Selected: The sheet follows your choice of selected sequence.
Link Last Go: The executor sheet shows the info related to the sequence where you last activated a “GO”.
Auto Scroll:
This feature keeps the active cue in the window e.g. when the sequence reaches the cue that is in the middle of the window; the active cue stays in the middle of the screen and the sequence list moves instead.
Be aware: If you reach the bottom of the list, the sequence list keeps moving. The last cue is still in the middle. But if you try to select something in the window, it moves the last cue to the bottom of the screen.
Sequence View-Mode Option
If you right-click on one of the first (from the left) five buttons you have the option to customize which columns and dialogs you want displayed.
|
There are two main columns - “Included” and “Excluded”. You move things from one column to the other by clicking on it. You can select the order of thing by choosing them in your preferences. You can also change this in the main window by click-hold-and-drag a heading to its desired position.
View-Mode Label allows you to change the name on the button. The “Label is always saved as Default” means that the label name stays the new one, if you create a new (or extra) sequence executor sheet.
You can choose to show or hide the Info and/or Effect dialog (read about the effects dialog).
The “Save as Default” button saves your preferences so the next time you create a sequence executor sheet it keeps your preferences.
Editing values in the Executor Sheet.
You have the option to edit values in the executor sheet. Read about the columns here. The sheet can show many different values e.g. fade time, trigger, cue number, dimmer path. They are divided into different categories.
Cue Number cells:
If you right click on a cell with a cue number you get this pop-up:
|
Here you have the option to renumber one or several cues.
You select them by typing a from cue number and a to cue. Then you can type the new (starting) cue number and the step the cues should incline with. Then you can press “Renumber!” and you got brand new numbers.
Be aware: The sequences always arrange cues in numerical order!
The “Other Functions” are an option to scale the time in the entire cue. The % adds or subtracts time with the percent you type. The “Scale Timing (sec)” adjusts the highest time to the one you enter, and makes all the other times accordingly to this.
Cue name:
Right-clicking on the cue name gives you the name pop-up. This allows you to change it.
|
Trigger:
Editing this cell works much like the standard calculator. If you change the cell to a time it starts counting when you trigger the previous cue! Beside the time option you have three other possibilities:
GO: This is the default setting. The cue is activated by a GO.
FOLLOW: When this is chosen the cue is activated when all times of the previous cue is finished.
SOUND: This relates to the sound settings in the Tools Menu. And this allows for the sound input to activate a cue.
|
All cells related to time:
If you right-click on a fade time or any other time (with your mouse) you get the standard calculator pop-up:
|
Sometimes there are specialized buttons at the bottom of the calculator that relate to the cell in question.
Loop:
The loop cell allows you to repeat a series of cues before returning to the rest of the cues. You select the cue you want to loop to and then you select if the loop should be tied to a time or if it should perform the loop a number of times (Count).
|
The “Delete” button deletes an already existing loop.
Dim Path / Move Path:
Editing these two cells you can assign a path to dimmer values or moving (Pan, Tilt, Color etc.) values.
|
There are different premade curves. And there is also the option to make a new one or load one of profiles you made.
There is three buttons:
No Path: Removes any existing path from the cue.
Select path: This selects the highlighted path.
Load Profile: When you select one of the “User” profiles this allows you to load any of your self made profiles.
Info cells / Effect cells:
The info cell displays the cue info you have typed. You need the “Info Dialog” to enter information.
Much like the info cell the effect cells display information about effects. You need the “Effects Dialog” to change the settings.
MIB cells:
MIB cells only allows you to change the status to Yes if there is a * (asterisk) in it (meaning there is a value to move).
Executor Sheet Options.
You can access the options by pressing the round yellow button in the upper left color.
Sorting & Readout:
|
With the three different font size you choose how big your text and numbers are displayed.
Select Sequence:
|
Here you can select any sequence to be display. It also changes the one of the buttons in the top of the window to Not Linked (also read the “Top bar” section below).
Explanation of the different columns:
Type: There are two different types of executors - “Fader” and “Button”.
No.: This is the executor number (fader or button).
Page: This number is (logically) the page number.
Name: The name of the sequence.
Type: This tells you if the executor is a normal sequence or a chaser.
Delete Window:
Pressing this button deletes the entire Sequence Executor Window.
