Sequence Content Compact sheet.
Contents
The Sequence Content Compact Sheet is used for displaying the content of a specific cue in a sequence. It is very similar to the Sequence Content Sheet. Compared to the Sequence Content Sheet the rows and columns are switched. This is the main window:
|
The sheet consists of three main parts. At the top is the top bar (read about it in the Top bar section below) incl. the cue bar (read about that in the Cue bar section). The middle is the actual Content Compact Sheet, where the used channel and fixture attributes (and there values) are displayed. Here you can select single fixtures by clicking them or you can select multiple Fixtures by using click-drag-release method. In the example above you can see that one of the fixtures got two different IDs, separated by colon. If there’s 2 different numbers (1:101) the first number is the fixture number; the second number is the channel number. If those two numbers are the same the sheet only displays it once. If a channel or fixture has a fixture number but no channel number the second number is replaced by a - (2:-). And if it only got a channel number it is reversed (-:1).
In the number field there might be a little white box (only when the fixture is a moving head). Depending on the position, the moving head can reach the same area with different values in Pan and Tilt. This box can have up to three different positions (top, middle or bottom) which correspond to the three different positions of head. When you move the fixture head the box may move as well. Next to the number you can have different color bars (read about it in the Colors in the Sheet section below).
At the bottom of the window you can choose to see the Layer Control and/or the Preset Control (read how in Content Sheet Options).
It is not possible to edit anything in the sheet, but you can select channels/fixtures and any or all attributes.
Colors in the sheet.
In a sequence content compact sheet there are many different colors.
For the Channel/Fixture number(s) the colors are:
Gray: The channel/fixture is not selected.
Yellow: The channel/fixture is selected and a value can be assigned by the programmer.
Dark yellow: The channel/fixture is part of a lager selected group but it is not the one you are controlling at the moment.
White: The channel/fixture is still in the programmer, but will not be stored.
For the attribute values the colors are:
Green: The attribute got a lower value then in the previous cue.
Blue: The attribute got a higher value then in the previous cue.
Red: The attribute is stored with the same value as in the previous cue.
Pink: The attribute is not stored in the current cue, and the value is tracking.
White: The attribute value is in the programmer.
For the backgrounds the colors are:
Dark blue background: This is the standard background.
Blue background: The channel/fixture is not affected by the “Master”.
Turquoise background: The attribute value is from a preset.
Purple background: The attribute is not stored in the current cue, and the value is tracking.
For the different bars the colors are (in the Name field):
Read bar: This indicates that one or more of the channel/fixtures attributes have values in the programmer.
Blue bar: The fixture is parked.
Content Sheet Options.
You can access the options by pressing the round yellow button in the upper left corner (in the Top Bar).
Display Layer:
|
Here you select what information you want displayed. See Layer Control for explanations.
You also have the option to turn On or Off the “Layer Control” and/or the “Preset Control”.
Sorting & Readout:
|
Here you have the option to choose how your content compact sheet looks.
“Sort by” determents how your channels are sorted.
Numbers: The sheet is sorted by the channel/fixture number.
Names: The sheet is sorted by the channel/fixture name.
With “Sort Direction” you select if you want the channel/fixtures with the lowest “Sort by”-value first (not the value assigned to an attribute) or the highest.
The “Readout” determents how your values display.
Percent +: Displays the percentages and as much as 3 little dots next to the number. Because the total range of one DMX channel is 256 steps and the percentage only displays 100 steps; the dots shows you more precisely where in the 256 steps the value are.
Percent: Displays the value in percentage (100 steps).
Decimal: Shows you the actual step in the DMX range (256 steps).
Hex: This shows you in value in hexadecimal (two decimals).
With the three different font size you choose how big your numbers are displayed.
Settings:
|
These settings also determine how your content sheet displays values and colors.
Physical Values: This option displays the physical values (defined by the fixture settings) next to the value.
Display Wheels: Displays a little picture of the color and gobo next to the respective value.
Display Color Mix: Displays the color next to the CMY/RGB colors (CM1, CM2, CM3 and CM4).
Orientation: ??? – If you know this please write it!
Wrap Around: The ”Wrap Around” feature (could also be named ”auto column”) allows you to have e.g. 60 columns in your content compact sheet, but instead of sizing the columns automatically, you can drag the column with the mouse and alter column with that way. This leaves channels/fixtures outside the window, and horizontal scrolling might be needed to see these.
|
Example of 60 columns "unwrapped" and "wrapped" |
Name Field: If you turn this option on the name of the channels and fixtures is displayed between the number and the first attribute.
Columns: This number decides how many columns the sheet displays.
Attribute Mask:
|
The “Attribute Mask” allow you to select what attributes you want to see. By moving attributes from the Included group to the Excluded group (simply by clicking on them), you select which you want to be affected by the “Mask” button (also read the “Top bar” section).
Attribute Sort:
|
With the “Attribute Sort” you can change the order of the attributes. When you select an attribute you can use the Up and Down buttons to change the position.
Select Sequence:
|
Here you can select any sequence to be displayed. It also changes one of the buttons in the top of the window to "Not Linked" (also read the “Top bar” section).
Delete Window:
This deletes the entire Sequence Content Window.
Top bar.
At the top is the window there is a bar with information and buttons.
|
From the right the first thing is the yellow button that gives you access to the Content Sheet Options. Next is the heading that tells you that it is a Sequence Content (Compact) Sheet.
Following this is a little black window giving you useful information:
The “E: 1.1” tells you what executor the sheet displays. In this example it is executor page 1, executor number 1.
The “S: 1 ‘Seq 1’” tells you what sequence number it is and the name of the sequence. In the example it is sequence number 1 and the name is “Seq 1”.
The following is an explanation of the eight buttons.
Mask:
In the Content Sheet Options you can select an "Attribute Mask”. When this button is activated the mask is active.
Next Cue:
When this buttons active (dark background) you are displayed the next cue in the sequence. You can’t have both “Next Cue” and “Last Cue” activated at the same time!
Last Cue:
When this buttons active (dark background) you are displayed the previous cue in the sequence. You can’t have both “Next Cue” and “Last Cue” activated at the same time!
Show Tracking / Skip Tracking:
This is a two way button. When you choose the “Show Tracking” the sheet displays all tracked values. “Skip Tracking” removes this information and you are only displayed the values that are stored in the cue.
Auto Sort:
When this button is activated, the channels/fixtures you select are displayed first.
Not Linked / Link Selected / Link Last Go:
This is a button with 3 different modes.
Not Linked: The content sheet stays in the sequence you selected in the Content Sheet Options.
Link Selected: The sheet follows your choice of selected sequence.
Link Last Go: The executor sheet shows the info related to the sequence where you last activated a “GO”.
Auto Cols:
??? – If you know what this button do, please write it!
Auto Scroll / Manual Scroll:
This is a two way button:
Auto Scroll: This option follows the cues in the sequence.
Manual Scroll: This option allows you to choose what cue you want displayed (read the Cue Bar section below).
Cue Bar.
Right below the top bar is a small bar giving information about what cue are watching. In this example you are looking at “4 Cue” (it displays the name of the cue).
|
If you choose the see a different cue (read Top bar section above) than the current, the bar changes:
|
Act means “actual”. And in the example above the actual cue on stage is “4 Cue” but the sheet displays the last cue - “3 Cue”.
If you switch from “Auto Scroll” to “Manual scroll” (read Top bar section above)the bar changes to black and gray colors and it tells you that you are in manual scroll mode plus the cue the sheet is displaying.
|
If you in this mode click on the bar you can change the displayed cue by using the encoder next to the screen or a scroll wheel on your mouse (if you got one). The bar changes to “negative” colors to show you that you can change the cue.
|
If you press the encoder (next to the screen) you get the “Select Cue” pop-up:
|
Using this you can make a direct selection instead of scrolling thru a lot of cues (really nice in large sequences).
Layer Control.
At the bottom you can choose to see the Layer Control. With this you select what sort of information the sheet shows you.
|
Presets & Values:
If a channel/attribute gets its value from a preset, the sheet shows the name of the preset. If there is no preset the sheet just displays the value.
Fade:
This displays the fade time for channels/attributes.
Delay:
With this option you can see the delay times.
Modulator Table:
This displays (if any) what modulator table the channel/attribute is assigned e.g.: sin, cos, lin+, lin-, etc.
Modulator Size:
This displays (if any) what modulator size the channel/attribute is assigned.
Modulator Speed:
This displays (if any) what modulator speed the channel/attribute is assigned.
Modulator Phase:
This displays (if any) what modulator phase the channel/attribute is assigned.
Auto:
The auto option changes between the first 3 options (Presets & Values, Fade and Delay), when you press the “TIME” button. There is a little black arrow that tells you which of the tree type above the sheet displays,
Values Only:
With this option you are always shown the values. I.e.: if a channel/attribute gets a value from a preset. The colors are still showing as a preset, but instead of the name of the preset you can see what value it’s assigned.
Cue ID:
This option shows you what cue a channel/attribute gets its value. This is really useful with big sequences and many tracked values.
Preset Control.
|
With the “Preset Control” you can select what type of attributes you select (and assign to your encoders). It doesn’t matter if the button is green or gray (it becomes green when you select a channel or fixture and it has that attribute). If the button is there you can select it. If you have the “Preset Control” in a different window e.g. the Fixture Sheet. The content compact sheet follows your selection there.
Notice: You may not see all the buttons shown in the example above. The desk only shows you the buttons with the attributes available to you.
