Select Folder (USB) pop-up.
There are several things you can save to a USB stick:
The Select Folder pop-up looks like this:
|
The desk usually suggest a name for the file you are about to save, you can change this using the keyboard.
You can change the folder by clicking/touching any folder or use the screens encoder (push it for selecting). You can go one folder up by selecting the line with tree dots (...) or pressing/clicking the folder symbol on the right.
If you press/click the little green arrow pointing to the right you get a little pop-up like this:
|
This allows you to change the directory where your files will be saved.
You can create folders on the USB stick (using a computer) to organize you different files but some files needs to be in specific folders (which the desk creates if they don’t exist). They are show files saved using the BACKUP hard key (see Compressed show files and Desk show files).
ASCII show files.
Read more about how to Export and Import ASCII shows here.
When exporting a USIITT ASCII show file the desk suggests the name “export.alq”, if you change the name it is important to remember the name. The desk will not show you other (used names) than “export.alq”. It is not possible to search the USB stick for ASCII shows.
When importing a USIITT ASCII show file the desk needs it to have the name “SHOW.ALQ”.
Compressed show files.
The desk saves these files in a folder named “CompressedShows”. Do NOT change this or the desk will not be able to find the show(s) again!
Compressed show files is (primarily) used for exporting the show to onPC.
You can read more about saving your show to a USB stick here.
Effects.
When exporting an effect the desk suggests the name “ENGINES.bz2”, if you change the name it is important to remember it. The desk will not show you other (used names) than “ENGINES.bz2”. It is not possible to search the USB stick for effect libraries named something but “ENGINES.bz2”.
You can read more about how to Export and Import effect libraries here.
Fixtures.
Fixtures (user created or “factory” created ones) can be Exported and/or Imported using the USB stick.
When importing the pop-up shows you every file that has the TXT filename.
Desk show files.
The desk saves these files in a folder named “GMASHOWS”. Do NOT change this or the desk will not be able to find the show(s) again!
This saves the actual show like the desk would save it on the hard drive. This is very useful for backup or manually transferring the show to a different desk.
You can read more about saving your show to a USB stick here.
Crash logs.
If the desk has a crash log you can (when the desk boots up) choose to save it to a USB stick.
Reports.
When you create a report you have the option to save it.
The desk suggests the name “report.tar.gz” which is a compressed CSV (semicolon separated spreadsheet) file.
You cannot reload a report into the desk.
Closing the pop-up.
To close the pop-up press or click on the blue cross in the upper right corner.
