THIS IS A START TO MAKE AN EXPLANATION OF HOW THE WHOLE THING ABOUT CONTROL WORKS IN A MULTIUSER NETWORK. Please anyone, place your bids to this one...
I stole the following post from Andreas from ma-share.net.
"to my understanding, in a multistation/user enviroment:
Green Control: desk currently controls playback of all parameters in full/active world
Yellow Control: desk currently controls playback of some parameters in full/active world or desk currently controls playback of more parameters than active world
Grey Control: desk currently controls playback of no parameters in full/active world
Green ExecSync: local Playback-actions are broadcasted to all desks in session and broadcasted playbackactions in session is listened to and executed locally
Grey ExecSync: local Playback-actions are not broadcasted, and broadcasted playbackactions are not executed locally.
this means i.e
- that unless one desk has full world, with green control, all parameters may not be totally in framesync. (the desk controles some parameters directly while the other parameters gets controlled via execsync of other desks)
- if control is yellow or grey some parameters may not follow playback at all (if execsync is off (grey) on actual desk, or execsync is off on another desk which has control of some parameters)
if this feels complicated, during playback with multiusers, just make sure full world is selected, ExecSync is on (green), and Control is not partial/yellow."
