Things to know when using USB as media for transferring files between Desk and OnPC:
Saving from OnPC to USB.
There are two options. Either you use the Import/Export softkey in the Back Up Menu or you “Save Compressed Show” under the Yellow Ball Options menu (Top Left Corner)
In both cases you will save all necessary files ( *.bz2 / *.sho / Show.inf and show_.inf) in a folder named *.sho.
If you do not save your shows in a folder in the root of your USB called EXACTLY “CompressedShows”, the desk will not be able to see them!
Loading from USB to OnPC .
There are two options. Either you use the Import/Export softkey in the Back Up Menu or you “Load Compressed Show” under the Yellow Ball Options menu (Top Left Corner)
In both cases you will get a filebrowser. Browse until you find the folder labeled showname.sho. Select folder, and press "Ok"
When you exported, you selected the folder where the .sho-folder were to be created. When you import/load, you need to select the .sho-folder that was created. Just selecting the same folder as you exported to, would give you a "No inf-file"-error
To use the files created from desk with the “Internal & USB Device” softkey (*.sho and Tar.GZ files) in OnPC: Copy the two files to: C:\Programmer\MA Lighting Technologies\grandMA\ide0\shows_(Version number) Restart OnPC and load from ”Internal Only”
Saving from Desk to USB:
Two options: Either you use the Import/Export softkey. In this case the desk will automatically create the folder “CompressedShows” in the root of your USB - or if it exists already, use this. Again all necessary files ( *.bz2 / *.sho / Show.inf and show_.inf) will be saved in a subfolder named *.sho.
The other option: “Internal & USB Device” which treats your USB as was it an extra harddrive on your desk. If you use the “Internal & USB Device” Softkey you will automatically create a folder called “GMASHOWS” on the root of your USB.(unless this is already done) In this folder only two files are saved per show “*.sho and Tar.GZ “
The thing you must remember is that it is not so easy to get these files in to an OnPC later.
